Method

  1. Heat 1 tsp oil in a frying pan on high heat. Add the beef and sear on all sides.

  2. In a jug, mix beef stock with tomato paste, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, onion granules, chopped garlic, and cracked black pepper.

  3. Transfer the beef to a slow cooker and pour the beef stock over the top. Close the lid and cook on high heat for 6 hours or low for 8 hours until the beef is falling apart.

  4. Remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred. Pour 5 tbsp of the cooking stock from the slow cooker over the beef. Add 3 tbsp of your favourite smoky barbecue sauce and mix well to coat the beef.

  5. Take the Deli Kitchen Lebanese Flatbread and place the butterhead lettuce on top.

  6. Next, add the coleslaw, a serving of the shredded beef and spring onions to finish.

  7. Serve and enjoy!

  • Bold Flavours: A smoky, savoury profile that feels like a professional BBQ spread at home.

  • Hands-on Fun: Perfect for build-your-own nights where everyone can customise their bite.

  • Texture Heaven: The contrast between silky beef, crunchy coleslaw, and pillowy flatbread is a sensory delight.

Key Ingredients

  • Deli Kitchen Lebanese Style Flatbreads: These are hand-stretched and incredibly soft, making them the ideal wrap for generous fillings.

  • Keepers Cut of Beef: This cut is lean yet becomes beautifully tender when slow-cooked. Swap for beef chuck or brisket if unavailable.

  • Smokey Barbecue Sauce: Adds that signature bold bite. Look for a high-quality sauce with deep hickory or oak notes.

  • Smoked Paprika: Essential for that earthy, campfire depth. If you prefer heat, swap half for chipotle powder!

Serving Suggestions

  • Zesty Side: Serve with a side of charred corn on the cob rubbed with lime and a pinch of chilli.

  • Extra Sauce: A drizzle of garlic aioli or a dollop of pickled red onions adds a beautiful pop of acidity.

  • Sweet & Savoury: Try adding a few slices of fresh jalapeño for a spicy kick that cuts through the rich BBQ sauce.

Storage & Reheating

  • Storage: The pulled beef keeps beautifully in the fridge for up to 3 days in an airtight container. It also freezes like a dream!

  • Reheating: Warm the beef gently in a pan with a splash of water or extra stock to keep it juicy.

  • Fresh is Best: For the best experience, always keep your Deli Kitchen Lebanese Flatbreads sealed until ready to serve, and assemble the wraps just before eating to maintain that perfect texture contrast.
