Ingredients
- 1 Deli Kitchen Focaccia
- 500g ground beef
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp oregano
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
- 1 tsp mixed herbs
- 400g chopped tomatoes
- 50g cheddar cheese, grated
- 50g parsley, chopped
Method
- In a bowl, mix beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Shape into 1-inch meatballs.
- Heat oil in a pan on medium. Add meatballs.
- Fry for about 10 minutes, until browned on all sides.
- Add tomatoes and herbs to the pan and allow to simmer until the sauce is reduced.
- Pile the saucy meatballs onto the Focaccia and sprinkle cheese on top, allowing it to melt before serving.
- Top with parsley and serve!
