Eat Wild

In 2022, research by innovative bakers, Deli Kitchen revealed the lunchtime habits of UK workers, with as few as one in three Brits (33%) admitting to taking a lunch break on a daily basis.

The study revealed Mancunians were the most likely (42%) to take a lunch break while Brummies (19%) were the least likely, preferring instead to dine ‘al desko’. Surprisingly, just 1% of Londoners admitted to ‘never’ taking a break for lunch.

Despite lunch breaks being good for our mental health and personal wellbeing, only 11% of Brits who don’t eat at their desk choose to dine outside – even when most have a full hour to enjoy the outdoors! The main reasons for avoiding ‘al fresco’ dining during the week included insects (38%), the perception that it is too much hassle (32%) and the lack of nice outdoor dining areas (20%).

To encourage people across the UK to step away from their desk and enjoy some fresh air this summer, Deli Kitchen created the ultimate outdoor park bench.

The one-of-a-kind bench, featured, convenient fold down tables, footrests, insect repelling plants, a phone charger, and outdoor speakers, aims to encourage Brits to ‘eat wild’ and boost their mental and physical health by taking a proper break. Brand fans and dynamic dance duo, Stavros Flatley, were on hand to welcome lunch goers and inspire passersby to make mealtimes amazing with Deli Kitchen’s delicious on-the-go hero products.
